Landing in the “The Cloud”?
Sep 7th, 2011 by admin

Cloud computing has come as breakthrough to the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME). It gives them the liberty to use the freeware software which they can use to give a “face-lift” to their process. These days hardly anybody prefers to buy software because there are many free software available even in saas which bring the value added service to the organization’s work process without costing a penny.
Saas and Free software are characterized by shorter implementation time, no up gradation cycle and great scope for innovation, added to that a “no-investment” catch line makes these software more lucrative for the SMEs. The positives of the Saas based applications have elevated further because it can be hosted on “The Cloud”. This allows the user of these web based applications to choose the place where they want to host the software and completely relieves them of owning their server; hence moving onto modern IT infrastructure.
R-Lite, feature rich recruitment software is now a free software which can also be hosted in any of the cloud providers. The software can be stored in the cloud making all data available on the internet therefore accessible from anywhere in the world. The only requirement would be an internet access through a PC or a smart phone. R-Lite helps your remain up-to-date with technology through its continuous application updates, smart phone compatibility and now by getting you up in “The Cloud”.

Ravi Venugopal CEO Founder Rooster HR quotes in Times Ascent dated Jan 26, 2011
Jan 27th, 2011 by admin

Is it advisable to complain about one’s immediate boss to the top management under dire circumstances?

PANKAJ BANSAL, director, M3M Group:-
“I have never advised any of my colleagues to complain about one’s immediate boss to the top brass. It would be far better to analyse the situation and put forward your point of view to one’s own boss with respect and humility. In most cases, this will yield results. However, if this does not result in solution to your difficulties – then, one may consider sending an official memo. But remember, this will be the last resort in a very difficult case. It may also be the last straw!”

CHANDRAKANTH BN, president, Theorem Inc Global Services:-

“This can be extremely tricky. Every time there is a conflict or a difference of opinion, there will be perceptions and points of view on both sides. People mostly do what they believe in their opinion is the right thing. If you strongly believe that your immediate boss is doing something unethical or working against the interest of the organisation, you should complain to the senior management. However, it should be backed up with strong data points and valid facts. It also helps to have the support of other colleagues and an impeccable personal reputation internally. Otherwise, there is a strong possibility of losing credibility in your organisation and maybe, even losing your job.”

Ravi Venugopal, CEO, RoosterHR:-

“Under normal circumstances, the ‘top management’ is not accessible so easily and hence, it is all the more challenging to have trespassed your immediate boss. However, an ideal situation would be to have exchanged this ‘observation’ with the immediate boss in-person under the 360 degree performance appraisal format. This will open up doors and put things in perspective.”

R VASUDEVAN, managing director,Vascon Engineers Ltd:-

“If the problem is of a repetitive nature, then the individual must discuss it with his/her superiors.”
